Mark Hollander serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Kidstown International, where he has oversight of financial matters. He is also one of the organization’s largest donors and the son of Mike Hollander, who founded Kidstown. He is currently the President and CEO of Hollander Hospitality, with public information reporting an estimated worth of $480 million. Publicly available information indicates the Hollander family has connections to the Polinder family.

Jason Vander Kooy

Jason Vander Kooy is the current Vice Chair of Kidstown International and a dairy farmer based in Mount Vernon, Washington. He is a co-owner of Harmony Dairy and has been involved with the organization’s board during recent leadership changes, including communications regarding Rustin Polinder’s status. In those communications, Vander Kooy described himself as a “friend” of Polinder.

Who is the Treasurer of Kidstown International???

Additional governance concerns arise from inconsistencies within publicly available leadership records. While Kidstown International's official website lists Mark Hollander as Treasurer, Washington Secretary of State (SOS) charity filings filed on March 20, 2026, list Mike Hollander — the organization’s founder and Mark Hollander’s father — as Treasurer and the individual accepting responsibility for the organization. As a result, it is unclear from the public records who currently holds formal financial oversight authority within Kidstown in Bellingham.

If the organization’s own public leadership records conflict, how are donors and the broader community supposed to know who is actually responsible for oversight and governance?

Kidstown International, Mark Hollander, and Hollander Hospitality Industry Connections

In August 2025—during his period of removal for misconduct and active lobbying by both Rusty and certain members of the board—Rustin Polinder was documented selling and distributing old hotel furniture from a trailer in Lynden. This specific inventory potentially correlates to the primary business interests of a key Kidstown board member. Mark Hollander, Kidstown’s Board Treasurer, is the President & CEO of Hollander Hospitality, a regional hotel corporation.

Public records confirm that Hollander Investments and Kidstown International operate out of the same office suite (Suite 165) in Bellingham. This proximity, combined with the hospitality-specific inventory being sold by a terminated director, raises a critical question for donors: Was the Board Treasurer utilizing his corporate resources to provide a personal financial "bridge" for Polinder while the Executive Director was attempting to maintain organizational integrity?

While these connections are based on verifiable public records and documented events, this site does not make a definitive conclusion but presents them as areas for further inquiry and organizational transparency.
